Services
Eyes and Independence supports children, adults, and families; and was the first sole provider to offer specialist teaching for children and adults with a vision impairment, and/or orientation and mobility challenges and training. Support can be provided around the clock, including outside of school hours, in the evening, in the workplace or local community, at child care centres, or at a location that best suits the individual and their family.

Eyes and Independence has now officially met the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) for NDIS Registration with the provision of the following classes of support under participants' plans.

Professional Development & Training for Support Workers
We provide professional development and training for support workers to better understand, empathise and support people with vision impairment or blindness. In our session we explore the below questions and more:
What is vision impairment or blindness?
How do you think your role may differ when working with someone who can’t see so well or not at all?
What is a mobility cane?
What is braille?
How do you think you can or should assist?
Do you know how to provide ‘sighted guide’ or ‘human guide’?
Fees and Charges
NDIS Services: $180 per hour
Regional travel rates are by negotiation with the participant/s and will vary depending on the support services being provided. Travel costs may apply to distances beyond 20km of Burpengary.Job Access Services: $180 per hour
This includes Orientation and Mobility training or support within the workplace. Access to Better Start funds has now closed.Professional Development Training: $220 per session + $55pp
